It’s hard to believe that with this issue, we’re kicking off year three of SML Insiders magazine.
What began as a leap of faith to go from “pixels to paper” has grown into something truly special, expanding the lake’s most comprehensive website into a 100-plus-page, full-color, glossy magazine.
The result has been a powerful synergy, with the magazine fueling tremendous growth online and the website extending the life and reach of every story.
This issue is a great example of that momentum in action.
New this year is our SML Parks & Beaches Guide, which highlights top spots to swim, picnic, fish, paddle and unwind along the shoreline and beyond.
Our annual SML Boating Guide returns with tips for on-water outings with kids, navigating after dark and essential safety and etiquette reminders.
You’ll also find our updated SML Marina Guide and SML Waterfront Dining Guide and maps, along with QR codes linking to expanded, interactive versions online.
Of course, summer at the lake also means events. From the SML Songwriters Festival and Fourth of July celebrations to Pirate Days, Wine, Balloons and Tunes Festival and The Coves Charity Concert Series, our essential events roundup starting will make sure you don’t miss a thing.
Cheers to another unforgettable summer at Smith Mountain Lake.
