Since its founding in 2007, SML Good Neighbors has provided a vital lifeline for children in Franklin and Bedford counties by offering a wide range of impactful programs, all free of charge.
Rising first through sixth graders benefit from summer and after-school academic enrichment, nutritional support and engaging activities that foster well-rounded development. In addition, high school seniors receive scholarship support to pursue educational goals.
Recognizing the importance of leadership development, not just in children, but also in young adults, SML Good Neighbors offers summer internships for college students, attracting participants from around the world.
SML Good Neighbors also founded and facilitates SML Gives, a dynamic event each March that unites the community in a 24-hour online fundraising blitz. In 2024, the campaign raised a record $218,451 for 37 nonprofits that serve the lake region.
SML Good Neighbors actively seeks partnerships with local businesses, organizations and faith-based groups. By working together, they expand their reach, maximize resources and ensure a more comprehensive support system for the children and families they serve.
