I’m Andie Gibson, a writer, editor and content marketer who’s covered Smith Mountain Lake for more than 25 years. My business partner, Jennifer Church (also a longtime SML resident), and I are the new owners of this jewel about the “Jewel of the Blue Ridge.”
If our names and faces look familiar, it’s because we’ve both been active members of the SML community for many years. We met while working for Smith Mountain Laker Magazine. I helped launch the publication in 2001 and served as its editor until 2015; Jennifer was its creative director and graphic designer.
We’re both elated to be diving back into sharing the stories of what makes SML so amazing – its breathtaking beauty, fun-filled special events, dedicated small businesses, eclectic residents and incredible recreational opportunities.
Smith Mountain Lake Insiders’ Guide Gets a Major Facelift
Today, we’re unveiling a complete overhaul of the SML Insiders’ Guide, which has been the go-to resource for those looking for Smith Mountain Lake vacation, recreation and relocation information since it was started by Brian and Erin Raub in 1998.
The new site has a more functional, powerful and attractive interface. In addition to a sleek mobile platform, the restructured Smith-Mountain-Lake.com offers:
