Virginia Master Naturalist Basic Training Registration: Calling all nature lovers in Bedford and Franklin counties! Registration is now open for this statewide volunteer training program focused on education, outreach and service. Evening classes and weekend field trips begin in February.

RE+ Exhibit by the Textile Artists of Virginia (TAVA): Explore textile and fiber art by members of the Textile Artists of Virginia in this inspiring exhibit on display at the MOArts Gallery in the Moneta/SML Library. The exhibit highlights the creative possibilities of words, renewal and cultural storytelling through fiber art. On view during regular library hours, Jan. 2–17.

Teens in the Kitchen!: Registration is required for this monthly hands-on culinary program for teens at the Moneta/SML Library. Participants will learn basic cooking skills while making, tasting and taking home new recipes each month. This month’s menu includes oven barbecue chili, chicken taco soup, cornbread and chocolate scotchies. 11 a.m.
