For those who have wondered whether a new business would ever occupy the former Sunken City Brewery at Westlake Towne Center, there’s welcome news: Plans are taking shape.
Goodview residents Christopher and Jeanna Williams are developing The Black Angus Company, a Nashville-inspired destination bringing dining, live music, billiards and shopping together under one roof.
According to the company’s official announcement, JCPA Properties LLC has secured a contract to acquire and renovate the property at 40 Brewery Drive in Hardy, along with some surrounding acreage. A soft opening is planned for early May 2027, followed by a grand opening Memorial Day weekend.
Owned by the Williamses, The Black Angus Company Inc. is being developed in partnership with Charles “CB” Edwards Jr. and Circle J Ranch and will be managed under JCPA Properties.
Inspired by a similar establishment the couple visited in Nashville, the venue will feature a central restaurant and bar, dedicated indoor and outdoor music stages, a billiards lounge and an upscale Western-style boutique.
“Our goal is to welcome families to a refined and memorable dining experience, with companion in-house offerings that enrich their time together,” Christopher Williams explained. “We know that Westlake is an expanding retail and entertainment destination, and we want to be there to give newcomers, visitors and long-term residents a year-round place to enjoy.”
Local Beef and Western-Inspired Shopping
The restaurant will feature locally raised, grass-fed Black Angus beef through its partnership with Circle J Ranch. Edwards leads the ranching operation, which will supply beef directly to the venue.
“Our partnership with Circle J Ranch will assure a farm-to-table source of aged prime beef,” Jeanna Williams said. “We’ll source other ingredients locally whenever possible, and invite talented local artisans’ creations into our retail spaces.”
The boutique will offer men’s and women’s Western apparel, gifts and locally crafted goods.
Music, Billiards and Community Events
According to the owners, indoor and outdoor stages will accommodate live music, events and community entertainment. The billiards lounge will offer recreational play, leagues and tournaments, with plans to expand into regional competitions as the venue becomes established.
The layout is designed to let guests enjoy dinner, browse the boutique, play pool and attend a performance within the same complex.
The Williamses bring experience in construction and business management to the project. Christopher has an ownership role with MW Construction Company, while Jeanna is transitioning into hospitality after a 23-year career at Children’s Castle Early Learning Center.
Project updates are expected to be available at TheBlackAngusCompany.com.
