Keeping Smith Mountain Lake clean, safe and beautiful is a year-round effort—but it takes volunteers like you to make it happen. Take Pride in Smith Mountain Lake cleanup days serve as the annual kickoff to ensure the lake is at its best for the busy summer season.

Since 1988, this critical initiative has brought together neighbors, businesses, civic groups and visitors to collect debris along the lake’s shorelines and waterways. Organized jointly by the Tri-County Lakes Administrative Commission, Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Smith Mountain Lake Association, the event is a vital part of preserving the lake’s natural beauty and recreational appeal.

Volunteers of all ages can participate, collecting trash along the shoreline, on the water or both—helping to remove debris that could harm wildlife, make it less safe for boaters or detract from the lake’s natural beauty.

TPISML offers a wonderful opportunity for business owners, community organizations, clubs and families to get involved in an event that benefits everyone who lives, works or enjoys our beautiful lake. It’s a small commitment with a big impact.

This year’s main event will take place May 3, and those who pre-register will receive a free T-shirt, gloves, heavy-duty trash bags and an invitation to the always-popular celebration dinner at Mango’s Bar & Grill. Participants can volunteer on that day or clean up on their own any time in May.

Help kick off the summer season by making a difference!
