When the late Brian Raub founded SML Insiders back in 1998, his vision was simple yet powerful—to celebrate the best of Smith Mountain Lake while fostering stewardship of its natural beauty.
More than 25 years later, that mission continues to guide everything we do.
From connecting residents and visitors to spotlighting organizations that make a difference, our goal remains to inform, inspire and protect this incredible community.
That’s why Andie and I were deeply honored to be presented with the 2025 Spirit of the Lake Award from the Smith Mountain Lake Association.
To be recognized by a group that does such outstanding work to protect the lake’s waters and promote safe recreation is truly meaningful.
The SMLA’s efforts align perfectly with our own—advocating for environmental awareness, supporting community connection and encouraging everyone to experience the joy of lake life responsibly.
